Experience of using GIS in assessment of conservation value of urban forests (by example of “Savin Navolok” park, Petrozavodsk city, Republic of Karelia)

The information about the state and nature conservation value of recreational forests Savin Navolok Park is presented. Maps vegetation localization rare protected species vascular plants, mosses, lichens fungi have been compiled. Nine types forest identified in where birch herb-rich (31.8 %), spruce (25.2 pine (16.3 %) prevail. About a quarter studied territory (25.6 covered by mixed coniferous-deciduous forests, aspen willow forests. flora characterized high diversity: 258 40 mosses 45 identified. In comparison with adjacent territories, distinctive feature presence large number southern taiga subzone (19.7 including nemoral on northern border their distribution range (Corydalis solida, Pulmonaria obscura, Tilia cordata, etc.). Park, 8 Republic Karelia are registered: Galium odoratum, Humulus lupulus, Lentaria afflata, Neckera pennata, Punctularia strigosozonata, Thalictrum kemens, among which Calypso bulbosa Cypripedium calceolus listed Red Data Book Russian Federation. Species Chaenotheca brachypoda Ulmus glabra included list taxa that need special attention to natural environment recommended for biological surveillance. According Federal Law “On Specially Protected Natural Areas”, complexes satisfies criteria give this status specially area rank monument or botanical reserve regional significance “Savin Navolok”.
